 Chris Ryman

Christopher P. Ryman

President and Chief Operating Officer

Chris Ryman brings over 30 years of experience in ski industry operations, land planning and ski resort development. Chris has been President and Chief Operating Officer of the Company since 1998. He is also an investor and partner in BCRP, LLC. As President, Chris oversees the operations of the Company’s four resorts. He also oversaw the operations of Loon Mountain, the Summit at Snoqualmie, Bear Mountain, and Grand Targhee prior to the Company’s divestitures of those properties. Chris was President of the Telluride Ski Resort from 2001 to 2004, pursuant to a management agreement between the resort and Booth Creek. Prior to joining Booth Creek, Chris held the position of Chief Operating Officer and Senior Vice President of Vail and Beaver Creek resorts. He was responsible for all aspects of the resort including mountain operations, food and beverage, ski school, rental, mountain planning and construction, USFS relations, and community relations. He played a key role in the acquisitions of the Keystone and Breckenridge resorts. He took the lead in planning and obtaining United States Forest Service approval for Blue Sky Basin, a 50 percent expansion of Vail Mountain. Chris was also involved from the ground floor in the development of Beaver Creek Resort.

Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer

Betsy Cole has over 25 years of experience in investment banking, strategic planning and finance. Since 1998, Betsy Cole has overseen all finance, accounting, information technology, and planning functions for Booth Creek. She is an investor and partner in BCRP, LLC. Prior to joining Booth Creek, Betsy was Vice President of Business Development for Vail Resorts, Inc., overseeing strategic planning, capital planning and acquisitions, from 1995 to 1998. Prior to joining Vail Resorts, she worked in investment banking and financial management for more than 12 years. Previous positions held by Betsy include Chief Financial Officer of Petrowax PA Inc., Vice President of Aurora Capital Partners, and First Vice President, Financial Institutions/Corporate Finance of Drexel Burnham Lambert, Inc.

Tim Beck

Executive Vice President of Planning

Tim Beck has a 20 year background in the mountain resort industry. As Executive Vice President of Planning, Tim oversees planning and development for the Company’s resort properties. Prior to joining Booth Creek, Tim was President and Chairman of the Board of Sno.engineering, a design and consulting company with six offices in the United States and Japan. At Sno.e, in addition to his administrative duties, TIm was intimately involved in mountain and land planning, permit coordination, strategic planning, management consulting and construction management. Prior to joining Sno.e in 1991, Tim was involved in competitive skiing for 10 years with coaching responsibilities for the U.S. Ski Team, Dartmouth College, Mt. Mansfield Ski Club and Stratton Winter School. Between 1987 and 1991, Tim took a leave of absence from Sno.e and started DRI in Lebanon, N.H., acting as owner representative on several development projects including the successful renovation of a 140,000 square foot historic woolen mill and a 750 acre subdivision. In 1991, he rejoined Sno.e as President.



 Julie Maurer

Julie Maurer

Vice President of Marketing and Sales

Julie Maurer brings over 25 years of experience in winter and summer resort marketing and the hospitality industry. Julie started her marketing career in 1981 at Northstar-at-Tahoe holding a variety of marketing department positions including director of marketing for five years. In addition, she oversaw the resort’s 260-unit lodging operation. In 1995, Maurer was named corporate marketing director for Fibreboard Resort Group, a division of Trimont Land Co., the previous owner of Northstar-at-Tahoe, Sierra-at-Tahoe and Big Bear Mountain. Booth Creek acquired Firbreboard’s California resorts in 1996, at which time Maurer assumed chief marketing responsibilities for all Booth Creek resorts. Julie is active in local and regional marketing organizations, serving on the Board of Directors for the Truckee-North Lake Tahoe Community Foundation, on the marketing committees for the North Lake Tahoe Resort Association and Ski Lake Tahoe, and as a member of the National Ski Areas Association marketing council. Julie is also a commissioner for the California State Tourism Commission and is past president of Ski Lake Tahoe, a cooperative marketing organization promoting Lake Tahoe’s seven largest resorts.

Heath Nielsen

Vice President of Commercial Properties and Operations

Heath Nielsen joined Booth Creek in March of 2004 as Director of Commercial Operations and was promoted to his current position in December of the same year. Heath oversees Northstar Resort’s commercial development, commercial leasing and property management, as well as retail, food and beverage, events, conference facilities and sponsorship operations. Heath’s experience with retail dates back to the early ’90s where he served as General Manager for Old Navy, Gap Inc. He later took a position as Regional Director with Vail Resorts, Inc. where he was charged with the control of regional and district managers in merchandising, visual, distribution, human resources and financial responsibilities. During his tenure, he directed 33 luxury resort venues, 500 employees and sales volume of $33 million. From 1998-2004, Nielsen served as Director of Stores and Business Operations and Senior Manager of Business Operations for Sony Corporation of America. With Sony initially, he opened Metreon in San Francisco a 400,000 sq ft Urban Entertainment Center managing Retail operations, Attractions, Food and Beverage and partner-tenant relations. Nielsen then directed the national openings of Sony Style Flagship stores. Overseeing all aspects of the business.

Mark St. J. Petrozzi

Vice President of Risk Management

Mark Petrozzi is a 25-year ski industry veteran, who for the past 17 years, he has provided direct and consulting insurance, risk management and ski resort operations services. Since 1998, Mark has been responsible for all facets of risk management, safety, loss control, employment practices, OSHA and other regulatory agency compliance for Booth Creek’s six resorts. He is also charged with developing company-wide risk management and operating criteria for all mountain base facilities departments. His other major responsibilities include development and priority phase-in of operational plans, procedures, guidelines and manuals, development of company-wide risk management, insurance, safety and loss control programs, conception and implementation of capital expenditure plans for safety and risk mitigation activities and purchases, input into strategic capital budgeting processes, management of direct reports (six resort risk managers), negotiations with insurance carriers and oversight and directions of all claims, lawsuits and risk-related financial concerns. His most recent experience prior to joining Booth Creek was with Willis Corroon of New Hampshire, where he served as Assistant Vice President.



 

Monty Waugh

Vice President of Accounting and Finance

Monty Waugh serves as Vice President of Accounting, for BCRP Inc, Booth Creek Ski Holdings, Inc. and their respective subsidiaries. Monty joined Booth Creek in 2004 and oversees a number of functional areas, including accounting and finance operations (corporate, resort, real estate and commercial); transaction processing; financial and tax reporting; corporate governance; capital management (cash management, lending arrangements and investor relations); information technology; and employee benefit administration. Prior to joining Booth Creek, Waugh served as Regional Controller for the Western U.S. for Intrawest US Holdings. Prior to that Monty worked as an auditor for Ernst and Young in Riverside, California.



 

Chris GunnArson

Vice President Action Sports Brands

Chris Gunnarson founded Snow Park Technologies (“SPT”), now a subsidiary of the Company. Snow Park Technologies designs and constructs courses for some of the most prestigious events in skiing and snowboarding including: ESPN Winter X-Games (all 15 years), Burton US Open, the Van’s Cup at Tahoe (2005 to 2008), and the AST Winter Dew Tour (new in 2008/9). SPT also consults on the design of some of the industry’s top terrain parks including the parks at Snowmass and Copper Mountain, the Stash Burton Projects and the DC Mountain Lab. Chris also oversees all of the Company’s terrain parks and oversees the Company’s youth marketing efforts. Under Chris’s leadership, the terrain park at Northstar received a # 3 ranking in Ski Magazine’s 2008 Resort Rankings and was rated #3 for best park, best pipe and best overall resort in TransWorld Snowboarding Magazine’s 2008-09 Reader Poll.
